ISREN and University of Aden Hold Coordination Meeting to Enhance Scientific Partnership in Environment and Sustainable Development

On Friday evening, December 12, 2025, the International Sustainable Research and Education Network (ISREN) held a coordination meeting with the University of Aden, represented by the Center for Environmental and Climatic Studies. The meeting aimed to strengthen academic and research collaboration in the fields of environment and sustainable development.

ISREN was represented by Dr. Abdullah Faisal Al-Shalif, CEO of ISREN and lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). Representing the University of Aden was Dr. Fawaz Bahamish, Head of the Center for Environmental and Climatic Studies, Associate Professor of Applied Geomorphology and GIS, and Chairman of the Environmental Protection and Water Security Conference.

The meeting was moderated by Dr. Samah Al-Mansouri, Head of the Training and Capacity Development Unit at the University of Aden and Director of Women's Academic Empowerment in Yemen for ISREN.

Key topics of discussion included an overview of ISREN’s achievements in sustainable education and capacity building, alongside the specialized research efforts of the Center for Environmental and Climatic Studies. The attendees also discussed ISREN’s participation in the upcoming International Scientific Conference and explored horizons for future scientific cooperation.

A major outcome of the meeting was the agreement to draft a formal scientific cooperation agreement between ISREN and the University of Aden. The Center for Environmental and Climatic Studies will lead the coordination and follow-up to implement the proposed terms.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the critical importance of fostering academic partnerships to address water security and climate change challenges, stressing the need to unify scientific efforts to serve sustainable development goals in the region.
