Seiyun, Yemen - The International Network for Sustainable Research and Education (ISREN), in partnership with Seiyun University and the Malaysian organization (My Care), held a scientific seminar on sustainable education strategy entitled "Reading the Malaysian Experience."

The seminar was attended by the President of Seiyun University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ashour Al-Kathiri, his deputies, the Vice President of the University of the Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences, Dr. Abdullah Ahmed bin Othman, the Secretary-General of Seiyun University, deans of colleges and their deputies, and a number of academics, researchers, and stakeholders.
The seminar included three working papers. The first paper was an introductory presentation of the network, presented by Dr. Abdullah Al-Shareef. He also spoke about the reality of education and scientific research in Yemen in Yemeni, regional, and international universities. He cited several statistics on scientific publishing in universities and stressed the need to keep pace with academic and research developments, apply quality standards, and focus scientific research on addressing community problems.

In the second paper, the President of the Network, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Zain, spoke about the sustainable education strategy in Malaysia and how to achieve this sustainability in universities and academic and research institutions.

The third paper, presented by the Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Othman Al-Amoudi, focused on the stages of development of graduate studies and scientific research at Seiyun University, as well as the most prominent challenges and solutions.

At the end of the seminar, the floor was opened for interventions, discussions, and suggestions from the attendees, who praised the outcomes of the seminar, which resulted in recommendations and outputs that emphasized the importance of spreading the culture of scientific research in academic institutions and the need to support scientific research by allocating a budget for scientific research and coordinating between Yemeni universities and universities around the world in a way that benefits development in the country.
